    Copper in diet?

My shrimp prefer it over the $$$ shrimp food. And I also like it because it has calcium which of course is good for their shells. I often don't know what's in the $$$ shrimp foods because they're from Japan and although they often list ingredients, they don't often list nutritional content. I had been feeding it for about a year when I noticed the copper sulfate in the ingredients...Duh! Guess I didn't bother to check because Hikari is a pretty respectable company and it had a picture of a shrimp on the package... So I e-mailed Hikari and got the same answer as you. It depends on the form of copper as to whether it's poisonous or not. It's cheap, it's got vitamins and calcium and my shrimp scramble after it like it was pizza! Go go Hikari!

  5. So after a couple weeks without anything happening, I set up a 20 long and added about 12 crs/cbs. A couple weeks into the move and I had my first berried shrimp and today, I have at least 20 babies and 4 other adults that are berried. Weird thing is that I also noticed 2 berried shrimp in my old tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. 4 Week Update Shrimplet survival rate is oustanding! Officially have 3rd batch of PRL CRS babies. Super good mix of patterns, with each batch of offspring I can notice a good mix of various S-SSS patterns. I found one from the newest batch of babies that I'm super excited to see what it looks like once it's larger. This little guy on the right. I haven't really seen a crs like this one, think it'll look super cool once bigger.

  14. It's what I thought too because they are yellow. Of course I don't have them and am not going too for a very long time because they are so expensive. But I have some babies right now from Mayphly's TTxCRS and mine I have no idea who. They look so red and yellow, they are just bring me happiness when I look at them.

  16. I caught her in the act just about 4am this morning. The other two aquariums seemed to be ruled by the same timing. I now have three clutches of eggs, all white and fresh looking when I get up around 4am. The one below is from two gold inca snails, one is from two pink/magenta/albino snails and another is the product of two purples or a blue and purple or two blue snails - not sure on that one. Some time after they're color coded in their own aquariums I can be more certain of that group. The problems of not being properly set up for planning. The idea is to try and breed true'er' coloring/striping through separation of colors. If anyone else is interested in swapping snails in the future to try this out and keep the gene pool fresh, I'd be interested. Right now, first gen from gold/gold, magenta/magenta and not sure (purple/purple, blue/purple or blue/blue). I would like to get dark purple/dark purple producing dark purple and then use the dark purple babies to see if the color becomes consistent or somewhat predictable - if that makes sense.
