  1. Hi, I have a chance to get live cultured copepods from a friend weekly. But I'm not 100% sure whether bee shrimps would feed on copepods or not? Does anyone have experience on feeding live food to shrimp? Thanks.
  2. Thank you for sharing your experience @ShrimpFan, I have added Aragonite into the tank for 3days already, but ph dropped further more, around 0.2 everyday. So now it is at 5.6. Should i wait this out until it reaches its equlibrium, and normally how long would it take ? Should i do anything else to reduce chance of shrimp would die during the process of reaching equlibrium state? I've checked TDS it raised by 10-12 and there is no presence of kh at all.
  3. Oops, i think the reason for high TDS was that i forgot to top up the tank as usual. TDS is around 200 after top up to the right level.
  4. It should be around 4 weeks atleast after the last 80% water change. I usually dose around 16-20 drops of Revive Colore daily. I'm using a cheap TDS pen from ebay, called TDS-3(gray), it uses NaCI, measuring unit is ppm. It only shows ppm i believe. If TDS is high, does it mean that i have not add in enough purigen ?
  5. I've prepared for shrimp deaths as well, i know i may get 1-2 died. But hopefully this is it, hate see my expensive one die instead :-s. With the Revive Vivace, is it neccessary to spray them through substrates as well ? Also, with Aragonite, do i need to follow the preparation phase according to your articles ? My current TDS is 220-230, if aragonite dissolves fast, would it increase TDS by much ? And with GH measurement, i only have API kits, and i've taken a measure earlier, it was 6. But i know for the fact when i first measure mineralised RO water with Bianco after letting it aerated for 24hrs, the GH test show results of 7. If this is the case, i should measure GH daily and if it hits 7, do i need to remove aragonite from the filter ? Thank you for your insight, it was very helpful
  6. I think you're right, ph dropped a bit. I measured last week it was 6.3, but this week it hovers around 6 - 6.1 now. I'm using ph pen to measure, and i have calibrated it like a month back. Should i add extra aragonite into the filter to keep ph up ? In term of overloading, Should i reduce feed food and replace it with natural leaves litters instead ?
  7. I will take picture once im back to my apartment. I already took out Aragonite after first 2 weeks of cycling tank. And yes, i do use purigen, i may need to increase it to 1litre ? I think BacterAE is quite beneficial instead of creating any harms, 1 spoon a week. Plus, i kept feeling like shrimps do not get enough food, as they usually go crazy when i put food into the tank. So having extra BacterAE can re-assure me that shrimps get enough food lol. By any chance, the death could be caused by lack of minerals ?
  8. How big is your tank? 25G tank What filter are you using? 4 divided section, run through one eheim 2215, spray bar going across all section. Each section is using internal filter Aquael turbo 500, with speed reduce by half What do you use to measure the pH? Africana at pH 6.3 is unheard of. I'm using your methods, except when i use aragonite i left them in longer. Which of my products are you using? I use all your products line for the tank. except gamma. Did you setup the tank using my method or change over to my product after setup? Yes, i used your methods. But i also add BacterAE underneath substrate along with your products. How many shrimps are in the tank? Around 60, 20,20,10,10 i believe. How often you are feeding those shrimp food? B18 once a week, spirulina (lowkeys) once, mk breed black diamond and red diamond twice a week.
  9. Tank has been set up for over 2months. I used SD product line along with BacterAE one/twice a week. And mk-breed and lowkeys food. This shrimp is a new shrimp i bought 2 weeks back, along with others shrimp. Tank is using Africana ADA 5-6cm. Ph should be around 6.3. Is there a possibilities of feeding too much protein food cause this problem ?
  10. I'm using SD products, so i don't think measuring GH would be ideal, but it does looks like lack of minerals to me.
  11. One of my Mosura wr color turned pale overnight and it flipped upside down afterwards (i think it's going to die soon). All my other shrimps seems healthy, i can't find any other death yet. Anyone know or suspect what would be the cause for the death ? All my parameters are fine, nitrate <20ppm. I do have purigen in the filter as well. The only med i dosed few days earlier was: No planaria. I have done 10% water change afterwards. And i'm going to do another 10% water change soon.
  12. Well, i have been using saltyshrimps and mosura products for the past years, but now i have decided to switch over to something else for my next project. I like the concept of shrimp daddy products, i know with SD there will be a lot more tasks, which is why i'm a bit hesistant. Because if two products produce same result, but 1 needs more attention. Wouldn't it mean that the products line that does not need much attention is better ? Hence why, im up here to get some feedback.
  13. Hi, Im thinking of switching my product line im using from mosura to either Mk breed or ShrimpyDaddy for my new tanks. I was hoping people have used these products can give me some feedback on these? And as for which one do you find better ? Thank you
