  1. Hi Aiden I live in England as well.I manage to keep around 5 bb and about 30 baby shrimp in 12 litre for quite some time now with no problem. Thanks
  2. Hi Aiden I am still considering myself an starter as well so please remember what I will say its only my opinion. I am from Uk as well so I am familiar with the products available and the prices asked for shrimp related products. My advice will be to try the Dennerle shrimp soil, its way cheaper than other shrimp soils and also its really stable for me(so far).I manage with it to keep an 19 litre aquarium stable with about 50 shrimp babies and 4 adults. Also I suggest to keep it simple with the filter and buy an sponge filter as they are extremly cheap and good for the shrimp. Also try to buy the mironekuton powder as for me worked amazingly(I have shrimp for almost an year and didn't had one failed molting so far). Thanks
  3. Hi guys and girls I will be going on holiday for a couple of weeks and I was wondering what to leave in the aquarium for the 2 weeks. The tank is small and I have 4 adult shrimp(caridina) and about 30 or 40 baby shrimp(a few days old) and one more berried female that I expect her to drop next week or so.In the tank I have leaf litter(guava, ial and banana leaves) and alder cones.I know people recommend to leave some snow flake but how much should I leave? Is it anything else I could do so on my return all the shrimp will be ok. Thanks and I know there are a few more posts about this but I wanted just to be sure about it
  4. thanks Aennedry. The tank is extremely small so I think I will need to set up a new tank. Thanks
  5. Thank you for answering. If I let them all in the same tank(i have only 2 tanks atm but one is with bettas) and michling breeds with another mischling is there any chance the offspring to be Tb?Sorry if its a stupid question.
  6. Hi I have an small tank with 3 blue bolt females and 1 crs male. All 3 females are berried and I was wandering what will the baby shrimp be: mischlings, blue bolts or just simple crs?One had the babys and from the few that I can see they seem to resemble the dad. Also if you folks can help me with grading one of the females-I don't have a picture of it at the moment but to put it simply is like a normal bb with a black spot on the back. Thanks in advance
  7. Hi. Thanks for all the reply.I've just kept them in a bucket and removed the filter. The good thing about it is that now one of my bb is berried?.
  8. Hi I've been lurking this forum for quite a while, and I have to say that this is one of the most informative forums there are for shrimps. Anyway the problem that I need you guys to help me with is the following:my Tb tank has an built in filter that I would like to remove. The problem is that I don't have where to move the blue bolts while I do the change. What do you guys recommend to do?can I leave the shrimp in a bucket with an sponge filter until I remove the filter? Also is the substrate going to be OK for the shrimp if I disturb it? I mention that is a fairly new tank. Thank you for your help
  9. Hi This is my first post so I apologise if it was covered in another post/part of the forum. I am going to start a new tank soon a 13 gallon tank using stuff from my current tank(first shrimp tank that i need to disassemble due to not having to much space) I am from Europe so I will use mainly products found in here easily so for substrate I choose Shirakura Red bee sand. My question is:can I use the current substrate in the small tank(2 months ago) (Glassgarten Environment soil )to kick start the bacterial cycle or it would have any substances build up in it that can be dangerous for Crs? Thank you
