  1. Hey Deta I have used undergravel filters with double sponge for the whole tank keeps the tank clear but the air stone clogs and needs to be replaced. I have used undergravel and divided the tank half bare bottoms and with a undergravel filter also. My new setups are going to be just little soil and double sponge or soil and hmf which seems to one of the best ways to setup. I have had success and failure in both setups so can’t really say if it improved breeding or health of the shrimp. Cons of undergravel everything collects underneath and if you disturb it a lot will come floating up. Also in one of the tanks where I used JBL shrimp soil the gaps broke in the soil from the filter moving while performing maintaince and shrimp and shrimplets got stuck in and I couldn’t save them. Once a shrimp manages to enter in he will be in the dark zone forever. Also so if you planning to add pants will be hard.
  2. I have a high blow 40 air pump (Picture attached) and been using it in for a while to supply air to my 2 racks which are currently on the side of each other using the original manifold (Picture attached) and air line piping. Im in the process of moving and resetting the tanks and they will now be placed opposite each other. I was planning to run a 1/2 or 3/4'' pvc pipes with metal controllers above the racks in the shape of a U which will result in 1 end being a dead end. All the videos I have watched recommend a loop and i cant run a loop since its my living room and only 1 area is being used. Any suggestions or idea how should I distribute the air.
  3. Anyone can help with this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Sorry for your losses. Have a similar issue with the jbl heater just stopped working yesterday and my discus tank temp was 22 instead of 30. Took it out wiped it down to go back to the store and it seems to work but I'm not sure about it anymore. On the other hand my Chinese one has no issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Inverter can be sourced and I have big 4 outlet air pump. Thnx Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I need to move in 4 months and the thought of moving 18 60ltr tanks to move and shrimps and discus is killing me. Will definitely be following this thread. Was planing to move in a similar way as said above shrimps in to bags and draining the tanks as much water as possible then refilling fresh water and adjusting water parameters. But I'm scared the tanks may start cycling again due to the move and also may loose bacteria on the sponge filters during the move. Any thought about that. Thnx Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. I have these double sponge filters I use in all my shrimp tanks. Lately they seem to be clogging a lot. The clog is where the air passes through the system. I have attached some pictures. Any suggestion would be appreciated, also how to clean green algae of the sponge. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Nice results. Can you help with the ur water parameters. I have 2 tanks at the moment a red and black pintos. The black pinto tank is doing well. Red pintos not doing so good. Bought about 28 pcs down to 10 in 2 months. Only saw 1 dead shrimp on its back with its legs moving and then eaten by the snail, the rest just vanished. Any help or advice appreciated. Thnx.
  12. Oh ok. I read online some guys mix it and pour it in directly. Some heat it and leave it for a week with a heater then add the whole lot. I don't think it dissolves completely. Just a non related question. Do you know how make a green tank as in all the rocks and glass with green algae for sulewasi shrimp. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hi Can you tell me how you dissolved the powder via the heating method. Co2 method didn't work. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
