  4. For the shadow mosura package, how many in each $80 package? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm not sure if you're interested but I have a Hanna (quasi lab grade) pH meter that I never use. I don't think it does tds though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hm that's really good to hear. I think our hobby trade needs to be a positive fighting force against ecosystem destruction, not enable it as it often has (Cardinal Bangaii, etc). And ugh double hit on deforestation from clear cutting for raising cattle and the fallout from poop. This is why I don't eat meat! I appreciate the detail and anything to prove the home bred operation (pics, etc. I believe you, but given Indonesia is far away it might be easy for them to say one thing but do another) will enable a purchase. Thanks @shrimplady! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Pictures/pricing? Do you know if they are they bred or harvested from the wild? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. On the limited buffering capacity of AS and others, it seems as though ebichua has the magic touch with 4 years of using straight SF tap! Ebichua how many inches of aquasoil do you have on the 20? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Interesting, I’m here in SF too and find that water straight out of tap is ~8.5, letting it sit for 24-30 hours drops it down to ~7.5, and I guess your aquasoil is doing the rest bringing it down to under 7. Curious how frequent and % are your water changes, and do you let the tap sit for a day before adding to the tank? Also how big is your tank? Great job getting these at tap params! Once I move in a few months I’ll be interested in your stock to start a new colony and see if I can get the same success in tap as you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. When you're using food to cycle, it will take some time for the food to break down into ammonia and harder to judge how much food to use, vs. using something like Dr. Tim's ammonia drops which I prefer since its immediate and predictable. I suggest the drops and if you want to continue using food you'll just have to be patient and keep tossing in some food every few days. Much messier process as you can see =) You ideally want about 3.0 - 4.0ppm of ammonia throughout the cycle (hence needing to "feed"). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. A few months ago, not sure if it was just the batch or coincidence but when I tried some shrimp lab Baby which contains several bacterial strains, dosing a tiny pinch about every other day, several weeks later I had a massive collapse over the course of another several weeks (1-2 deaths per day) that I can only attribute to a bacterial outbreak. Water params were perfect and I keep covers on my tanks, temp was 72. It was a rough few weeks. Stopped dosing and deaths slowed down (maybe also coincidence)? Since then I haven't fed anything with bacterial strains and very rarely at that. Just mulberry leaves. This is an interesting topic and def want to hear more about other experiences!
