  1. @dazalea - do you still have the last pack?
  2. @Minereaper LOL - I think I've read that before. I remember the larvae images. There isn't much info on them, that is true: http://www.inverteponics.com/2016/05/waiter-theres-fry-in-my-soup.html
  3. No, the Indian whisker shrimp eggs are bright green on mine. They have not had any eggs since receiving them. Two clutches were released, but the adults ate them all. If I get any more clutches, and larvae, I will probably sieve out the larvae and try rearing them on golden pearls and brine shrimp in a separate container. I have been feeding the whisker shrimp hikari crab cuisine, algae tablets and they really enjoyed the brine shrimp along with their own babies.
  4. Interesting. I have some Indian whisker shrimp that look similar, to this last set of photos. The first set of photos definitely look like different shrimps to me - the amanos, because of that stripe down the back, curved tail instead of humped and short rostrum. Anyways, maybe someone else can help you with this. Best of luck to you!
  5. I have amanos and my ph is over 7... like 7.4 or more. They do well in that water. Some of my amanos get reddish tones, some do not. I'm working with someone on plantedtank forums for working out how to raise up the babies. I've had 3 failed clutches so far. Join us and we can all learn more together. http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/88-shrimp-other-invertebrates/1053841-amano-pregnant-5.html
  6. That looks like an amano shrimp... and the eggs look normal to me...
  7. I really like the sexy shrimp... I like shrimp, in general...
  8. I'm interested in getting some of these in fall - do you sell them or know someone that does?
  9. Okay, I'll look you up come fall for the green or blue rili. Every time I see your user name, that "Mister F" from Arrested Development pops in my head.
  10. I guess the Nessies are tolerant to my water parameters and the coloring varies? This could look nice... Do you also have the the neon yellows as well? I thought I saw something to that effect when the neon greens popped up. That could probably sew up the last of my selections of shrimp.
  11. How are the neon greens doing? I could be interested in these over the blue rili. Also would find the neon yellows a good option for the yellow shrimp I'm looking for.
  12. Hi, Thanks for posting. I was reading the same thing. I think the yellow skeletons are what I've been looking at, but my water parameters aren't suitable for the bee types. I have very hard, 7.5-ish+ ph water and don't want to mess with modifying it. Any yellow suggestions? I have Painted Fire Reds, Blue Velvets and Tangerine Tigers - all doing really well so far. I'm most interested in color, but would like to broaden the types if possible (also have Indian Whiskers). I think I would be pretty happy with the Neocaridina davidi Neon Yellow variant for the yellow shrimp. I'm just wanting something not plain yellow. Is anyone selling those?
  13. I'm looking for yellow rili and carbon rili (blue mixed coloring). It's probably too hot for shipping now, but interested in lining something up for fall. Anyone?
  14. The snail is very distracting, but there is a blue velvet hitching a ride. Shrimp are always hitching rides on the snails...
  15. We have very hot weather here, and people keep ponds. I've looked into it myself. Ponds need to be deep and have floating plants for coverage to help control algae and reduce heat. Then frogs move in. This site may be helpful: http://www.pondgnome.com/pond-tour.html We ended up deciding against making a pond here.
  16. I caught her in the act just about 4am this morning. The other two aquariums seemed to be ruled by the same timing. I now have three clutches of eggs, all white and fresh looking when I get up around 4am. The one below is from two gold inca snails, one is from two pink/magenta/albino snails and another is the product of two purples or a blue and purple or two blue snails - not sure on that one. Some time after they're color coded in their own aquariums I can be more certain of that group. The problems of not being properly set up for planning. The idea is to try and breed true'er' coloring/striping through separation of colors. If anyone else is interested in swapping snails in the future to try this out and keep the gene pool fresh, I'd be interested. Right now, first gen from gold/gold, magenta/magenta and not sure (purple/purple, blue/purple or blue/blue). I would like to get dark purple/dark purple producing dark purple and then use the dark purple babies to see if the color becomes consistent or somewhat predictable - if that makes sense.
  17. I just bought an HOB/Breeder box. http://amzn.to/1Uqg1e7 I was planning to use an extra Deep Blue Solarflare Micro LED Actinic Blue Light light: http://amzn.to/1THIaeq. Easy to stick on the glass anywhere needed and the lighting is really bright.
  18. My pictures aren't as high quality as others here, but I have some good berry shots
  19. From the album: Berried Amano

    First picture of berried amano.
