  1. Otos are safe. All other fish are a risk. Some more than others but even nano fish can and will take out baby shrimp. It's food chain. Shrimp are bugs. Fish eat bugs. You can mitigate the danger by providing a well scaped tank and choosing fish wisely but you can't eliminate the danger except by doing a shrimp only tank or shrimp and the hobby wide accepted only shrimp safe fish, the oto.
  2. Here's a complete list: 1. Oto
  3. I used one connected to a canister filter. Worked great!
  4. Any chance you'd be willing to ship shrimp? If you still have any that is.
  5. Are you using it to test your RO water mix or tank water?
  6. 20L for general shrimp keeping and breeding. Rimless for display. I really like the size of my Mr. Aqua 11.5g tank which is 19x12x12.
  7. Wonder what the KH/GH is and how stable it would be. Did you buy some?
  8. I would. For any tank. Keep it and use it in cases when you use meds and need to remove the meds after treatment is over or in case there's an accident and something gets in the water that shouldn't be in there. Otherwise...I wouldn't use it. It can also remove things you do want in the water like fertilizers and some say trace minerals and stuff like that.
  9. I got mine from Inverts By MsJinkzd (Rachel O’Leary). http://msjinkzd.com/stocklist/
  10. Not sure about the RO/DI removing it...I would think it would...but correct that aging won't remove it which is the point I guess of water plants using it over just chlorine. So you need Prime to remove. Not sure if there's a test you can use or a way to find out whether the RO water you make still has it or not. I'm interested in hearing what others say. Luckily my water department still only uses chlorine...I think. They just built a new plants...I guess I should find out if they upgraded their chemicals too.
  11. I use Shrimp Souffle and the snails love it. But I don't have nerites. Just MTS and pond snails.
  12. Yeah...I could probably use a little lowering of my pH anyways. I'll have to look into how many I might need...and yeah...I agree...slow is best when making changes in a shrimp tank.
