  1. I think you have the right idea. Starting out with quality shrimp will get you quality offsprings. I don't think you have to keep the parents separate from their babies since theoretically speaking their babies should be as high grade as their parents. I would suggest starting with 1 male and multiple females so you get a higher and faster chance of reproduction. Also I think having a second tank as a cull tank would be the easiest way to ensure all the shrimp in your breeding tank is of the colour grade you want. Selective breeding is the easiest way to have a good colony.

    Hi

    Welcome Mai! Cute shrimp
  3. If you're planning on just keeping Caridina dennerli, I'd say go with Salty Shrimp 7.5. 8.5 is quite a pain to dissolve without CO2, but it's great for if you want to keep the more finicky Sulawesi breeds. I've got a tank ready to go too, but can't find anyone selling Caridina dennerlis if you find someone, please let me know. :D:D
  4. I have some blue dream neos, but I'm in OC, dunno if that's too far for you.
  5. hit me up if you have any. thanks!
  6. Hey Evil Cheesecake, welcome! I'm from SoCal too, I prefer buying all my shrimp supplies online since I've noticed that it's almost always cheaper than at local fish stores. However there are a lot of amazing shrimp breeders in LA for when you're ready to get your shrimp! Like BlueCrown or ShrimpRobot
  7. :'( I keep missing out on your cool shrimp sales. People here buy shrimp like ninjas.
  8. Maybe they are dying from shock since you've been battling this pH problem. I think as long as you maintain it from now on they'll thrive again. But yeah what I use to lower pH is Indian almond leaves and alder cones, peat balls if I'm desperate but I don't like how it discolours the water.
  9. Aww thanks for the information. Yeah I probably don't want to mix Galaxy fish bones then huh. I just really like the look of both shrimps and don't have enough tanks to keep them separated.
  10. Omg your dog is so cute, is it a samoyed? We have a one year old samoyed and love her to death.

hey sorry for the late reply, been a crazy 2 weeks of celebration for my 30th bday. Anywho, my dog's an medium American Eskimoe. Love him to death. He's an old fart. I think he turns 14 this year! (forgot how old he is in dog years). I love Samoyed, they're a little bigger then what my house can handle. haha

  11. Don't have a picture, but this is what I am referencing http://jtibee.com/epages/5d8d722b-1e21-44f3-9edd-1dfde4add597.sf/en_US/?ObjectPath=/Shops/5d8d722b-1e21-44f3-9edd-1dfde4add597/Products/SRC
