I'm using a bare bottom. Are you using active substrate for pH ? I found that with NYC water, a little driftwood is enough to bring pH down to 6.8.

Hi, I'm afraid I got the shrimp bug again I used to keep yellow neos, then moved to african cichlids. Now I have a small unused, cycled cube tank, so why not.... If you're local to NYC and selling some shrimps, please PM me. I'm not set on any specific species, although I really like the blue velvet ones. Thanks ! Pat
