  1. Hi Congratulations on your upcoming shrimplets. The grading on CRS has to do with Opacity of white and red and also to do with the pattern. The white on these is translucent thus the grade of S. There are other factors too as I am certain a more experienced shrimper can add. Look in the archives here, there was a diagram describing grading of shrimp. If you are on Pinterest browse “dwarf shrimp” and you will find it
  2. Welcome to the forum. Lots of great info in the archives
  3. What are your water parameters? Kh, Gh, TDS ammonia, nitrites, nitrates? Have the others molted? Some shrimp take the winter off or slow down breeding then start again spring/summer. How are the shrimp acting? Are they busy?
  4. Welcome BeetleNerd. Lots of good info in archives. Lovely tank I am sure your shrimpies are quite happy exploring.
  5. Robert. I am so sorry you have had this experience. Did you remineralize the RO water prior to adding? It makes me curious why Oto’s Died overnight. Did you retest the water? I’m thinking ammonia spike or big pH swing. Can you put in a bag of chemipure or Purigen? This will absorb toxins that may have been released from substrate. Shrimp really require stability. What are your current tank parameters: TDS, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, temp?
  6. I love them! Keep going with them. I just got a gorgeous red rilli baby in my Bloody Mary tank. A bit bummed because for a year all breeding true Bloody Mary’s.
  7. My very limited experience is the taitibee seem to be slow growers too
  8. Hi Rowdy have any other shrimp died like this? I had 2 weird deaths like this in a tank a long time ago. I suspect it was poor immune health. How are your water parameters? Any Temperature fluctuations or pH fluctuations? I could not pinpoint the problem in my tank, but I started to feed bee pollen and spiralina powder weekly and occasionally bloodworms. I have not had any problems since. I know this is not a clear cut answer, but stress of any kind over time weakens the immune system.
  9. Welcome to the group. Send some pictures of your tank
  10. Hi David welcome to the group. Lots of experienced shrimp lovers here. Be sure to look at the archives in the genetics and breeding area of the forum.
  11. This looks like a tiger hybrid to me, not a PRL. But I am no expert. Pretty shrimp though
