  4. Hi, thanks in advance for helping! I have a heavily planted 2 gallon nano tank with one ghost shrimp. I'm looking for tank mates, preferably solitary becuase I don't have the room for fish fry:). The tank is heavily planted, with 3 Marimo moss balls, 6 small water wisteria, and some natural decor and a cave. Ideas please? Tank specs are: Tempurature- a constant 69 pH- constant 7.8 ammonia/nitrites/all that jazz- 0ppm except for nitrates, which is about 15-20ppm usually The tank has undergone the nitrogen cycle. Thanks! This is a picture of the tank, to get a sense of dimensions. The flashy gravel was chosen by the youngest child in our family.
  5. Hi all, Currently I'm facing one problem when using chiller is that the glass being clogged steam too much. More specifically, I use Hailea and set temperature range is 23 ~ 24C. Do you have any suggestion to fix it?? Thank too much
  6. So I'm ready to start developing my MTS, and have been considering a number of options and configurations. Then one of my usual shops started carrying the new Dennerle Shrimp Tank Complete kit... http://angelfins.ca/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3168 I haven't had a chance to see it myself, but the specs and the price are compelling. The only thing holding me back is the filtration system, not sure if it is enough. What are your thoughts/experiences with it?
  7. First off I’d like to say thanks to Will and his team of knowledgeable mods and attendants and to all the good people here who help make this one of the greatest shrimp forums on the internet. My name is Andy and I live in foggy Pacifica, California where the water quality and weather are perfect for breeding shrimp. I currently have 9 different types of shrimp which I will randomly post for sale. I will post prices soon. Here is my current stock: Red Cherry Shrimp Blue Diamonds Golden Bee Taiwan Bee ( blue bolt, wine red, bkk, shadow panda, panda, red bolt) Mischlings PFR CRS A-SSS+ Sulawesi Cardinal Tibee ( TT x CRS) & (Aura Blue X Snow White) Malawa Taitibee (coming soon) Here are some pics of my shrimp I also collect rare species of moss from all over the world. I will have some of these available for purchase soon. Stay tuned for some awesome RAOK starting in December. Thanks for checking out my sponser page!
  8. Hey everyone, new to the forum and the world of shrimp keeping. I am going to be starting a nano 5.5 gallon crystal red shrimp planted tank. Check out my video. I am going to document the whole process. My Setup I currently have a 20 gallon planted tank with a few fish. Unfortunately shrimp would not be compatible with one of the tank mates so i'm starting a whole new tank!! Cant wait for the plant order to come in!! Hope to hear from you - Matt Side note: Does anyone on here breed CRS and sell them?
  9. So, this was something that I stumbled across the other day by just random observation. I have one of our small bedrooms in our house dedicated to my shrimp tanks - wife absolutely loves it BTW, she always comments how good of a use of space it is... Anyway, my room, my rules. We've been warming up here the last number of days as I am sure a lot of folks have, and so I have been keeping a much closer watch of my temperatures. What I noticed the other day makes a lot of sense (I think), but something I never thought of when setting up my tanks on the racks. The tanks on the bottom rack - much closer to the floor - are staying at 72-73 degrees with no trouble. The tanks up on the upper shelves are warmer - like in the 75 degree range. Granted, this is just a few degrees, but I think it makes sense that this is due to the warmer air rising up and the cooler air staying lower to the floor. We do have AC, so none of my tanks are in real danger, but it just got me to thinking that if you're setting up racks, maybe put your warmer temperature shrimp on the upper racks, and the crystal, TBs, and cooler shrimps on the bottom rack. It might help with the temps just a bit. Now, I'm no thermal engineer, so maybe someone can chime in discuss if my theory here is right, but on general observation, my lower tanks are all cooler, and in some cases, their heaters need to come on to keep the temp up for the neos. My plan is to now - as time and maintenance allows - to move all my cool temp tanks to the bottom racks, and put the neo tanks up on the top. Anyway, throwing that out there for thought and comments.
  10. Hi, I need help on what I should do for my 20 gallon long shrimp tank! I'm thinking about removing the moss sheet, cholla wood, and Indian almond leaf! I'm not sure though! I also want to get some fluval stratum substrate to add to my eco complete! I think my shrimp would like it better and it has a cleaner look! Last, I want to add the diy paintball co2 so my plants grow better! Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks
