Subtletanks91
Especially right after a shrimp molt
Amyers22
I have had a assassin snail eat one of my shrimp right after it molted. Since then I haven't kept assassins in my shrimp tanks.
Shrimple minded
What was the verdict on otos eating "white worms", and are white worms = nematodes? Sounds like the jury was out when this was first discussed, would love to hear updated opinions if available.
Pika
I still have seen my Otos show no interest in any worm or moving critter, etc. Just surfaces in the tank and the food I give them. (But it was me that posted before... maybe I have boring Otos) Detritus worms are the most common "white wiggly worm" people are concerned about, and are generally harmless. Often people will tell you they're a sign of a healthy tank ecosystem, although if there are a ton of them showing up, you may be overfeeding, or have disturbed them somehow. (tank conditions or substrate cleaning/substrate condition) According to what I've found, detritus worms are not nematodes, they are annelid worms. Hope that helps? ETA: Here's a new link to some worm info... as with any internet source, compare with other info and do your own research! And the treatments listed are for fish, not necessarily shrimp safe!! Vpier
So.... If anyone have Otos, monitor them more and see whether they like to eat the worms like mine. Just cycled a tank and now have nematodes all over the glass and watched my otto eat them while grazing.

Prov
I think I have leeches. I looked at the Harpers chart of worms. Maybe microscopic flatworm. They are so tiny like the size of snail eggs but moving. I see them in the water that I vacuum from the detritus. Are they bad for the shrimp?
