Look what I found in my tank VIDEO

Recommended Posts

So I spotted this little guy in my tank, what do you all think I should do with it?

Should I move him to my 20 gallon tank with the rest of the grown adults or leave him in this tank.

Heres the video

From what I understand about assassins is they lay eggs (which are cube-shaped) but if the eggs hatch successfully the babies go into the substrate and typically don't emerge for at least a couple of months. They also, again from my reading not experience, have relatively small amounts of eggs at any one time and it takes a while to "recharge" the egg-laying batteries, so to speak. So who knows how long this little guy has been hiding or if there are more of him around!

It lay a lot of eggs...

Eggs moving and eat algae....  or something else.

A lot of , leave in the substrate until they cant found food.

They love hikari algae wafers.

I have 3 left and they seem to be mating about half the times I see them, but have never noticed any eggs or babies. I figure my Corydoras habrosus would probably gobble up any eggs that they come across.
