TheGlassBox
Has anyone ever tried siliconing either plexiglass or clear polycarbonate to glass? I'm making a new refugium. I heard those materials wouldn't stick together well... Any thoughts?
chappy6107
they dont stick well. it is ok to do this for say a divider, but not for anything that needs to be sealed enough to hold water. TheGlassBox
TheGlassBox
That's what I thought, thanks! I guess I'll stick with glass to glass because it's a 30 gallon with a deep sand bed in the center refugium. Better to be safe than sorry i guess.... right? I just hate cutting glass.... Shrimp Life
glass shops will cut glass for pretty cheap and sand the edges for you. TheGlassBox
TheGlassBox
Yeah but I'm cheap. And I have a spare 40 gallon breeder that I messed up drilling LOL!!!!!
Shrimp Life
lol I hear ya. It can get pricey. but pretty sure glass and polycarbonate run around the same price, atleast in my area its not very much more for me to get glass cut and sanded. However if you have the tools and materials on hand you'll save $$$ by DIY'ing it TheGlassBox
