  1. Noticed on Sunday when I got in from work that two of my corydoras had these weird marks on their skin (I probably should've known something was wrong on saturday night when they wouldn't eat), but because it was Sunday everywhere had closed and I couldn't run to a LFS for a treatment or anything. My first thought was that it was ick but then it seemed to develop from small spots into more of a rash or blistering, woke up on Monday morning to two of the four corys dead and the other two had similar marks on their skin. I ran to my LFS and grabbed anti-bacterial and anti-fungal treatment (my thinking had moved onto it being something fungal because of the way it looked on the two deceased corys), i treated that on monday but it did nothing. One of them died overnight and judging by the other one it doesn't have long left. I've googled a bit and i think that it might be Columnaris based on the description here http://www.fishnet.org/sick-fish-chart.htm but i can't find any pictures of corys with columnaris that resembles this. So i was hoping someone here could confirm or point me in the right direction so i can treat the tank properly. First two pictures are of the remaining cory taken about twenty minutes ago, and the third picture is one I snapped on monday of one of them.

    Fish ID please

Picked up some Green Gold Corys from a LFS yesterday and got home and found this little guy in the bag as well, must have been scooped up in the net and not noticed. Can anyone tell me what it is? IMG_9213.MOV
  3. Little update, my girlfriend bought me the dennerle scapers 35l for my birthday. I spent my birthday setting it up and swapping everything over (it wasn't at all stressful haha!) Well after two weeks I have my first lot of shrimplets in the new tank. I'd count that as a success

  6. thanks for all the help guys and gals
  7. Yeah, i may have to invest in one of those. I had to rescue a shrimplet that I'd accidentally syphoned up the other day using a test tube from the API master kit, whoops!
  8. Hi guys, I've been lurking around here for a while now, and you've all helped me so much when it came to setting up and cycling my tank, so I thought it was about time I made my first post. I've had my tank since October - and I added 10 RCS in November, it's running a double sponge filter, a piece of wood with Java moss tied to it and moss balls, it's a 12 litre so nothing special at all. But now my colony has increased rapidly so I'm looking to treat the shrimp to a new home. I want either the 35L Dennerle Scapers or the 30L Dennerle Nano Cube - not decided yet. But when I do purchase and switch over, am I best cycling the tank before I add the shrimp or will using the same filter, wood and moss be okay? Thanks EDIT: Forgot to ask the best way to catch my shrimps, there's a lot of them in there at the minute, I've seen the bottle trap idea floated about on here a few times. I was just wondering if there was any other ways to do it?
