  1. Hi, Is it possible that the breeders from ebay in the UK are giving all male crystal shrimps? I have bought from 3 separate breeders 22 shrimps in total and I swear I only have 1 or 2 females maybe as when they are swimming their breeding dance as I like to call it there is usually only 1 or 2 'sitting' shrimps, which I've been told are the females... I had a tank before in another country and I never had a problem of having a good mix of sexes and so had lots of babies.. 3 months later and still no babies when the shrimps are of a good size now. I have a theory that they heist all the males out while they are swimming around and these they give to us... Can someone tell me my theory is wrong?
  2. Thank you, that does look lovely. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hey fellow plant artists! I'm looking for some advice on a good slow growing moss for my bee shrimp tank. I'm thinking of putting it at the base of the wood and looking for something I don't have to prune to often..... Any ideas for me?
  4. After reading another post looks like I'm taking out my seiryu stone as I didn't know it could raise GH, PH etc :/
  5. Hi! I'm setting up a new tank in a new country and compared to what I am used to the water is very hard. TDS 130 (after using bee salt with RO water) GH 10 API test KH 2 with an API liquid test (Salifert test 1.2) PH was 7.5 (Tetra) I was used to in my previous country 120 tds would give me 5gh and kh of 1, so now I'm wondering how low can the TDS level go to reach a gh level of 4-6 as the 'books' say? I started today to add 'clean' RO water to lower the GH but I'm wondering how low I can take the TDS (for the shrimps) to obtain a better GH level? No shrimps of course in there but I'm taking care of my new horned nerite snails. I have ada amazonia thats been running for over a month at least with lots of water changes to bring me to a low nitrate level, around 5-10ppm. 0 for nitrites/ammonia Any advice or experiences welcome!
