  2. 60G (1/2 Cup) of Mulberry Dust - $12.50 shipped USPS to anywhere in the U.S. This is dust/powder made from grinding the leaves from my Mulberry Trees. This dust is organic, pesticide and insecticide free. It takes approximately 100 Mulberry Leaves to make 60G of Mulberry Dust. Mulberry Leaves have many detoxification properties and are a wonderful source of many nutrients, minerals, and antioxidants for our shrimp. Mulberry Leaves contain loads of calcium, antioxidants, beta-carotene, zinc & a fairly high protein content. Not to mention, shrimp love them! This means that you can mix other less desirable things (spirulina for example) with the mulberry dust and use that as a delivery system to get those things into your shrimp. How it is used: I mix this with RO water and add directly to the aquarium, this makes it available in the water column and on the surfaces in your aquarium for all sizes/ages of shrimp. I also mix it with other food ingredients (Montmorillonite Clay, Spriulina Powder, other leaves, dried veggies, egg shells, etc...) and RO water, then spread it thinly on wax paper and allow it to dry. Then it can be broken up into chips and fed as any other shrimp food or rolled onto bamboo skewers and fed as "shrimp lolllies". Here is a quick video of one of my tanks after adding the Mulberry Dust. Please PM me or ask for further details in this thread. Thank you! 9. So I just got some Omega One Super Color Flakes for my Fish. I read the ingredients and it is mainly made of Salmon, Halibut, Krill and other fish along with some Seaweed. I came to thinking this might be a great food to feed to Shrimp to give them Protein and to also enhance their color because it contains Salmon. So I took a pinch of flakes and crushed them up to almost a powder and fed it to them like I would with any other Shrimp food Powder. The results were great, my shrimp immediately went to swimming around to search for the flakes. I have been feeding them this off and on for the last couple days so I don't know yet if it helps with breeding or color. Now I want to know if any of you have fed your Shrimp any food like this?

  12. SHRIMP LEAVES! Mulberry, raspberry and stinging nettle leaves available FRESH! It's that time of year again, time for my fresh leaves for your shrimp tanks! Shrimp go absolutely bonkers for these. They are treated as foods, just like spinach or kale (unlike IAL or dried oak leaves which is more for biofilm growth). All leaves are plucked fresh from our farm. These fields have not been sprayed or fertilized and are nowhere near a road! Safe for your shrimp. once or a week. Typically Mon-Tues or Thurs. In the event you purchase one of the larger 100 leaf packages I will make a special trip outside of my schedule if I can. COMBINED SHIPPING/DISCOUNTS for multiple items/types of leaves, just message me if what you want is not listed in the 'sample packs' below. To prepare leaves to feed your shrimp I do the following for all fresh leaves: I boil them for approximately 2-4 minutes, lay flat on paper plates, put in the freezer, then after about 10 minutes put them in a ziplock bag. I break off smaller pieces to feed or full leaves are fed to large colonies. Can be kept in the freezer for up to 6 months. Stinging nettle leaves – approximately 2-4” in length though will vary. Stinging nettles are a very nutritious food source for all shrimp, very high in calcium. Please note, stinging nettle leaves have little fuzzy like barbs on them that ‘sting’ or can cause a mild burning sensation after handling. Rather, they can if you are sensitive to them, so be careful handling them until they are boiled (they don’t sting after boiling in my experience). $9 ppd First Class for 25 leaves $14 ppd First Class for 50 leaves $25 ppd First Class for 100 leaves Mulberry Leaves (White variety) Leaves are also taken from a tree on our farm. Prepared to feed exactly as I do the stinging nettle. Sizes vary but around 4"-6" on average per leaf. One leaf could feed a good sized colony for a month! No spraying of pesticides, fertilizers, etc near these trees either. $8 ppd for 30 leaves $12 ppd First Class for 50 $20 ppd First Class for 100 Raspberry Leaves 2-4" in length, prepared just like all other leaves. $7 ppd 25 leaves $12 ppd for 50 leaves $17 ppd for 100 leaves SAMPLE PACKS! Try all three types of leaves! 10 stinging nettle leaves, 10 raspberry leaves and 5 small white mulberry leaves (about 3-4 inches) for $12 ppd ALL 3 TYPES OF LEAVES - 50 leaves EACH - $34 ppd First Class ALL 3 TYPES OF LEAVES - 100 leaves EACH - $55 ppd PRIORITY ** Best deal Please send Paypal payments to kalnight@aol.com Make out for goods/services (no gift payments or personal tab payments please!). For combined packages or larger amounts of leaves please email me kalnight@aol.com (remove spaces!) or message me here. Since all packages are postage paid I can offer small discounts for combined packages. Any questions, just ask! First photo is of shrimp on stinging nettle leaf after about 3 minutes, second photo is on mulberry leaf approximately 12 hours after putting in the tank

I am usually available after 4pm daily. Lastly, I have shrimp related goodies and plants for sale.. Shrimp Foods: Nigon’s Baby Bacter (30g) - $15.95 *Free Shipping Powder-type food designed for shrimp and micro-organisms. This product is specifically formulated to feed shrimp and organisms of all sizes. The powder food helps feed microorganisms our naked eyes can’t see. These organisms are what our newborn shrimp feed on to grow. This product is also consumed by the shrimp themselves. It is a dual purpose product. Furthermore, when setting up a shrimp tank, it is a good idea to dose this powder food into the tank. It helps to encourage microorganisms to grow before adding shrimp into the tank. This way, shrimp can feel more comfortable by having an abundance of food to pick at. Feed one spoonful (per 10-20 gallons) every 2-3 days when you begin to see babies. If your multiple females give birth at roughly around the same time and you get a baby boom, do not hesitate to feed daily. This product CAN be fed on a daily basis as it is near impossible to foul the water when kept at recommended dosage. Feed sparingly at first and increase the amount as you see fit. I use this for my Taiwan bee tanks and have noticed an increase in shrimplet survival rates. SL- Blue Wizard Water (250g) - $19.95 + $4.50 Shipping Excellent product to use for shrimp keepers who want to use liquid dosing for mineralizer their RO water. Specially made for Bee shrimp but can certainly be applied to other shrimp, as this is a universal RO water mineralizer. This formula has all the essential trace minerals required for a healthy, balanced shrimp tank that allows them to molt and grow without complications, when properly dosed. The bottle has a head pump for easy application. The main advantage of a liquid mineralizer over powder mineralizer is that the liquid form is easier to use and diffuses into the water much easier, thus avoiding small pockets of concentrated minerals. You will not need to age the mineralized water with this Blue Wizard Water because it does cause immediate pH drop like dry salts mineralizers. 1mL = 1Gal = 5 - 6 dGH 250mL is sufficient to mineralize 250gal of water to 5-6dGH. This product is very potent. Definitely a great value! SL-Aqua M.O.R.E Meat (25g) - $12.95 *Free Shipping An excellent animal-based protein food for shrimp. The main source of protein in the pellets is fish, not plant-protein. This enhances growth of the shrimp. You should notice a difference in speed of growth when feeding protein to your little babies. The pellets stay intact and solid for the most part, so removal of uneaten food is easily done, if left uneaten for longer than 6 hours. Feed accordingly to your population’s needs. Strongly recommend this product if you’re experiencing a large boom in your shrimp population that are in the Juvie stage. This product should help them grow into mature breeding adults, and condition adult females for breeding. My recommended dosage is at least twice a week. Best used with SL-Aqua Veggie. SL-Aqua M.O.R.E Veggie (25g) - $12.95 *Free Shipping This product contains only veggies, no added animal products in it. A recommended staple food for any shrimp tank. You can’t really go wrong with this. All natural ingredients! Unlike many other foods, the pellets do not dissolve into mush. So it doesn’t rot away in the tank as easily and removal of uneaten food is easily done, if left uneaten for longer than 6 hours. Feed accordingly to your population size. I would recommend feeding 3-4 times a week, alternating with SL-Aqua M.O.R.E Meat. SL-Aqua White Plus (25g) - $13.95 *Free Shipping A treat for shrimp that should be fed once or twice a week. The food contains necessary minerals and trace elements that allow the shrimp to grow thick shells. This product helps improve the colors on your shrimp through allowing their shells to grow to their maximum thickness. A thicker shell means the intensity of the color we see on our shrimp will be much greater. Do not expect this product to magically turn a bad looking CRS into a $500 PRL shrimp. This product merely brings out the best your shrimp can do. So if you feel like your shrimp are not looking as good as they were in the past, then you may want to pick this product up and give it a try for a month. I like to feed my shrimp this product in the middle of the week, a few days before I do water changes. This way, when I do water changes and my shrimp begin to molt, I feel more comfortable that my shrimp have been fed the necessary nutrients to molt into thick shells. Best used in combination with SL-Blue Wizard Water. Snowflake (60g) - $6.95 *Free Shipping This was a cool food I discovered during my visit in Hong Kong. Many stores and breeders in H.K. use Snowflake food in their tanks. These “snowflakes” are actually soy husks that have been pressed into pellet forms. When added into the tank, they expand and scatter into the tank like snowflakes. It takes roughly a week or two before the snowflakes fully disappear from the tank. Until then, each snowflake acts as a constant food source for shrimp. Snowflakes are a goldmine for micro-organisms and shrimp take advantage of it. I gave a bag to my friend who kept Taiwan bees that refused to take pellet food. After trying out the snowflake, his bees swarmed the flakes. For the first time, in the year he’s kept his shrimp, they were eating something given to them. While it is near impossible to pollute a tank with this product, my recommended usage for this product is 1 cm of snowflake pellet per 10-20G tank with an established shrimp colony. For new tanks that have just started (assuming you start with 8-12 shrimp), use 2-5mm only. The reason I feed sparingly is because overdoing the snowflake can make a tank look messy. So it’s more of an OCD thing for me. But when it comes to shrimp food, always judge on how much you feed accordingly to population. Start small and escalate as you see fit. SL-Aqua Shrimp Products! SL-Aqua Snowflakes 50g - $11, 120g - $18 SL-Aqua Baby Food bottle - $18 SL-Aqua Snowflakes 50g - $11, 120g - $18 Snowflake food has become quite popular in Asia. It is a specially selected growth media for mycelia. Mycelia is the vegetative part of fungi that generates nutritive components such as crude protein, amino acid, crude fat, crude cellulose and polysaccharide, all of which are important for shrimp growth and well being. Even though the shrimps are attracted immediately when it is introduced into the tank, it is perfectly normal to have white flakes left over. These "snowflakes" do not pollute water and will serve as a medium for mycelia to grow. As a result there will be a constant source of food for the shrimps for weeks (depending on the amount dosed and the amount of livestock), thus making it to suitable to be used as a food supplement during holiday periods. SL-Aqua Baby Food bottle - $18 Rich in vitamins, minerals and trace elements, with additional algae, chitin and unsaturated fatty acids, to promote shrimp growth, color and breeding. It is high in amino acids, natural vitamins and minerals, for health, growth, colourfulness and good reproduction of the animals. Shrimps are omnivores and as such they also need animal proteins, which they usually find in mostly invisible microorganisms and microbes in the substrate. In order to grant a sufficient supplies of such microbes, Takayuki Shirakura developed the rearing feed » Chi Ebi, which serves as a nutrition basis not only for baby shrimps but also for microorganisms and thus support a healthy development of the population. These little helpers furthermore dispose of feed residues and excrements of the shrimps which lie deeper down the substrate and thus clean the substrate. If feed residues and excrements are not removed, shrimps may die from the evolving poisonous substances. Baby shrimps are particularly at risk. This is the reason why Ebi Dama feed by Shirakura has a very firm consistency. It will not fall apart during feeding and sink down to the floor unused. In relatively newly set-up aquariums in which the substrate is not yet sufficiently active, it is recommended to add high-quality feed, for example artemia, once a week. However, it is also recommended to use » Chi Ebi - rearing feed from the very beginning since it significantly accelerates the genesis of the important microorganisms and microbes. Composition: Seaweed, Cereal, Vegetables, Vegetable by-products, Spirulina Analytical Constituents: 29,6% crude protein, 4% crude fat, 11,9% raw fibre, 22,1% crude ash, 4,9% moisture Usage: Feed Ebi Dama twice a day in small amounts, but only as much as the shrimps can eat within one or two hours. If all shrimps are full, feed leftovers should as a principle be removed from the aquarium. 80g bag pictured https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3685/12911916825_96129bc859_c.jpg Shirakura Ebi Dama Special Supplementary feed for shrimps and crayfish is a herbal product. It is high in amino acids, natural vitamins and minerals, for health, growth, colourfulness and good reproduction of the animals. Contrary to regular Ebi Dama, Ebi Dama Special also contains wild cabbage, several types of sea algae and is particularly high in calcium. Composition: Seaweed, Cereal, Vegetables, Vegetable by-products, Spirulina Analytical Constituents: 30,8% crude protein, 3,9% crude fat, 12,2% raw fibre, 19,5% crude ash, 7% moisture Usage: Feed Ebi Dama Special twice a day in small amounts, but only as much as the shrimps can eat within one or two hours. Apart from that, is also supports the growth of microorganisms and the mostly invisible microbes which dispose of food residues and excrement and are an important part of the shrimps' as well as of the baby shrimps' diet. How popular and important this is for the shrimps can be witnessed if you carefully dig up the substrate with your hand. It often only takes a few seconds until the shrimps will gather in exactly this spot to cover their need for animal proteins by eating the now available microorganisms and microbes. In order to ensure this food basis permanently and in sufficient amounts, it is recommended to regularly feed Biseibutsu no moto (Please also see feeding recommendations). Quote from Study of the University for Fisheries Science Studies by students of the University for Fisheries Science in Hokkaido/Japan have shown that in those aquariums where Shirakura's Biseibutsu no moto - rearing feed was used, significantly more baby shrimps survived and also developed better than in aquariums without the additional feeding of Biseibutsu no moto. In their microscopical research they discovered that the population of the microorganisms which are particularly important for baby shrimps was more than ten times higher when feeding Biseibutsu no moto than in a comparable aquarium without Chi Ebi. Further observations and positive side effects were the enhanced colour of the shrimps as well as crystal clear water. Usage 60 cm aquarium: 1 level spoon* per day 100 cm aquarium: 1 heaped spoon* per day Vary depending on how many animals the aquarium houses https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2861/12912012863_aea23d9b1f_z.jpg Shirakura Red Bee Bacter A beneficial bacterial supplement to help along an aquarium that is suffering from mystery deaths, low rate of survival for babies, and low activity in shrimp. Aids in the decomposition of organic matter in the substrate and water. Not only the decomposition of nitrite, ammonia, and organic matter, also is food for beneficial bacteria to aid in the growth of juvenile shrimp and increase shrimp survival rate. Usage: Comes with 6 tea bags packed with bacteria, use 1 teabag per 50 liters (~13 gallons), and let it soak for 2 days before removing the teabag from the aquarium. The bacteria will remain in effect for one week. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7390/12912012733_7750b56d8e_c.jpg Shirakura Liquid Mineral Ca+ Adds vital minerals to the aquarium water and raises its overall hardness (dGH). Especially when using very soft water, a lack of minerals is well-known to occur quite quickly and Shrimps might suffer from loss of colour and molting problems. The important microorganisms in the filter and in the substrate become inactive and the water quality decreases. A water hardness (KH) of 0-2 is recommended for breeding bee shrimps, as is a pH-value of less than 7 in order to avoid the formation of ammoniac. However, achieving these values, the overall hardness (dGH) often gets too low. In this case it is recommended to harden the water with Liquid Mineral Ca+ in order to avoid the death of the shrimps. The water hardness (KH) is not influenced by this. Mr. Shirakura furthermore recommends maintaining an overall hardness (dGH) of 5 or more for a healthy and strong skin. Example of usage: For a new aquarium, add 5 ml (about 60 droplets) of Liquid Mineral Ca+ per 10 l water. For existing aquariums with shrimps, add this dose over several days. Prepare exchange water mixture beforehand. 1 drop of Liquid Mineral Ca+ to 1 liter water raises the general hardness (GH) by about 1° dGh. I've have had great luck with 1ml per gallon to make a GH of 4-5. http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0346/6977/products/shirakura_liquid_mineral_1024x1024.jpg Tantora Shrimp Products!
