FortMyersSteve Posted March 17, 2019 Report Share Posted March 17, 2019 My ammonia and nitrates are ok, but my nitrites are always high. Are the bacteria that convert ammonia to nitrite different from the ones that convert nitrite to nitrate? Why would I have high nitrites when the other parameters are ok? What can I do for this problem? I had one shrimp die today. This is a saltwater tank (34 ppt) with ordinary pink shrimp (penaeus duorarum bought from a bait shop), not an exotic shrimp.
