i have malayas in my tank too but I did ruled them out initially as I have been unsuccessful in growing their larvae separately but I know my females have been depositing lots of them in my tank. But not sure if their actually surviving to shrimplet stage. Any one owning Malaya shrimp could care to compare? Thanks
Hi
need some identification on the shrimp in the pic attached. Whether is wild type neocaridina or tiger? (Note: I mean the clear shrimp on both images not the black or the yellow. It is the same shrimp on both images too.) Not sure why it uploaded upside down either.
I housed both neos and tigers together and I am worried theres a possibility it could be wild type as I'm confused about normal tiger shrimplets and their stripes. Do tigers get their stripes as they grow or could someone fill me in on more information as I cant seem to find much on this or pictures that I could relate to as I am having shrimplets that are clear with few black stripes but not full bodied.
I wonder if astax was made just for the red coloration of shrimps in the first place as the carotenoid is red. Plus it was red for both cherries and bees that were the first colors no?
Interesting and coincidentally i actually was just started out with some glasgarten food this week . And i notice my black neo shrimps having less opaque coloration. Thought it might have been lighting or maybe stress factors. But wasnt sure fully till u said it cld take up within first week
Sorry for the crappy pic but mine arent full black rose neos they do have a slight bluish tinge bt as u can see in the pic the coloration is quite distinct. They looked more black before.
Thank you soothing shrimp.
Yeah there were posts about food changing the colors of yellows to green but no one stated which brand of food. They said the green reverted back to yellow over time. Interesting that the babies thrown would be green. Did the babies grow up staying green or did they revert? Also what kinda green were they if you dont mind me asking?
