  1. well I'm not sure... I don't really think its anything else just because I've had them for very long time, checked all params and this was during 1-2 weeks with a severe heat in my city. They didn't show any other signs, just drop dead. I have many tanks and yes its weird it didn't happen to my taiwan bees but perhaps they are way more hardy and tolerant then the low grade crs... I have a tank with regular crs and those are fine too... But thank you, I did consider that something else was wrong but I could not find anything. I suspect the heat is the culprit.
  2. No I cut it off the tree. I don't let it fall off and I dont believe anyone who uses these leaves collects them from the ground.I believe everyone harvests by cutting them. I never see any of them on the ground.
  3. Yea it might just be that the orange shrimp that you got were not very well colored. Hopefully you can pick your best ones and use them for breeding to improve the intensity of the colors.Best of luck
  4. Yup my low grade crs colony died off super fast this summer. by the time I noticed the die off already half were gone. What a SHAME! I've had them all winter and spring without one dead and now all are dead. But my taiwan bees are all berried and alive. why is that?
  5. I dislike shipping shrimp in the summer... however I also ship bettas and those like the warmer temps. They don't do well in the cold!
  6. It looks to me like all the shrimp, not just the little ones are lacking some color so I'm not sure you will see much improvement (I'm comparing them with the bigger ones in your picture) I wouldn't bother removing any. I don't think those that you mentioned look red, they just look like dull oranges but a different hue from the other oranges you have. When you bought the original ones were they all pale like this? Sometimes it just a matter of lack of good color in the shrimp or it could be your water params they are stressed they can go pale like that(thats why I ask if your original oranges were bright orange when you got them) Oranges can get pretty pale when stressed.
  7. Wow I love your tanks. They are absolutely stunning. I wish I could have someone local help me design/setup a tank. It really requires talent!!! I can grow plants I just don't know how to master this thing called aquascaping . KUDOS TO YOU
  8. Is it just me or does anyone notice that since we got the new "FEEDBACK SYSTEM" I find that people are not leaving feedback for me... where I know they are happy because they thanked me... Seems like its the same people who use the feedback feature - or maybe people are just not taking the time to leave feedback anymore?
  9. why not order from Jumpsmasher ... he is a member here and has a really good selection and reputation!
  10. Here are what the fresh picked and dried ones look like...
  11. I use them fresh and dried. Dried is convenient for storing Once you drop the dry leaves in the shrimp do go to them. Thanks for posting the pics Jadenlea, appreciate it and nice to see your shrimp that are very nice!
  12. I use this white sand and its still white after a long time.. http://www.petsmart.com/fish/gravel-sand/national-geographic-trade-aquarium-sand-zid36-21320/cat-36-catid-300072 I like that the sand grains are bigger the other white "sand" out there...

  15. Welcome to the world of shrimpkeeping Congrats on inheriting some shrimp... First thing I would suggest setting up a bigger *not neccesarily BIG* but bigger then 500ml aquarium. A 2 gallon aquarium would suffice if your not ready to get anything bigger.
  16. usually there are still baby planaria that can hide in the substrate. GOod thing you have the no planaria just incase you need it...
  17. Yes a few are pale green with a yellowish hue so I know why you assumed it came from yellow. Those shrimp I normally cull out, its usually only a few males I find that look yellowish green and I consider them culls as they are not as nice green as the others...
  18. THe cull rate is extremely low for green jades which is a huge advantage. 1 out of every 30-40 shrimp is either orange or very light green (too light for me to keep as a green jade so its a cull) I rarely have to pull out culls as they are all very green. Also, you mention that they maycome from yellows but since they are throwing the occasional orange I believe they came from oranges.
  19. These are the last green jades I'm going to sell until FALL> these are not imported, they are home raised. No diseases or any issues!
  20. Tap, 200tds and 7.1 ph those crs are low grades from germany that thrive in tap and high ph.... thats why they are in the same tank
