Thanks for the neos in comparison. They are way tiny compared to their adult sizes.

This appears to be a saddle that’s eggs that are developing. Once fertilised the shrimps will carry the eggs in the saddle that is formed among the swimmerets. This is an Amano shrimp and that means that the hatched larva stage needs brackish water to survive and they undergo metamorphosis to get to be freshwater shrimp. Raising Amano shrimp larvae could be tedious and demanding procedure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Red Cherry and Yellow Shrimp baby size
SudhirR replied to Scubavinny's topic in Care, feeding and breeding
The window screen that you have added is not safe for shrimp babies. They are really tiny and will certainly get sucked in through the gaps. You need to use aquarium foam or sponge to secure the inlet. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I tried placing 2 regular sized cones in my 10 L tank and saw the shrimps starting to race like getting into a shock. I checked that the pH had dropped from 7.6 to about 7.3 in a matter of 30 mins or so. I immediately removed the cones and made a partial water change. The pH is back to 7.5 types. These cones are pretty potent for smaller volume tanks and need to be used very very cautiously. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Neocardina sp which will not work interbreed with red cherry shrimp.
SudhirR replied to SudhirR's topic in General Discussion
Can Tangerine Tigers do well on the harder side of water? I think the regular tiger shrimp does better as per shrimp care guides. Pls advice. -

My tank is slightly in the alkaline side 7.8 pH. gH between 7-8 and kH about 5-6. My red cherries are doing well. I understand my setup is not suitable for cardina sp, but are there other neocardina shrimp that I can add into this tank. I do not want interbreeding with red cherries. Please suggest. Apologies on your loss... Both sides share the same water, so water params are absolutely the same on both side. If the cause was water quality related it should have been a problem on the red side as well yes?

Hi all, I am a newbie to shrimp keeping. I started with Red Cherries about 6 months back. Was able to make a good home for them. Now I have added some Crystal Red - S Grade...
