metageologist
I was wondering what every ones take was on dosing hormones in order to influence what sex your shrimp will be. I was reading in Breeders 'n' keepers (B'n'K) vole one that some breeders are influencing sex using temprature lower temp more females high males. One of the breeders indicated that taiwanese breeders were rumored to be dosing hormones in order to get more females. Any one have any thoughts or insight. aquariumlover10
I say the temp is fine, but I wouldn't use artificial hormones.

EricM
i'd stay away from any of those artificial (chitlin) hormone products. best to just do a cool water change that usually influences molting. Shrimpie and mayphly
chibikaie
On a large scale, it may actually be less expensive to use an additive instead of heating/cooling large amounts of water. So that may make financial sense. It's how a lot of farms operate: how can the most profit be made using the least effort and resources? TheGardenofEder
I say go for it we do temp control with reptiles but I've never heard of it for shrimp or fish even for that mater. I for one would be happy with all female clutches
aquariumlover10
Temp changes are done with certain fish for breeding, sexes, and even genetics, but not sure what species they use it for.
