scion11 Posted May 13, 2015 Report Share Posted May 13, 2015 I use denitrate which is the same as Matrix but the rocks are smaller, supposedly it's better for smaller filters since the water can penetrate deeper with the smaller flow rate. You can also use plastic netting from veggies in the grocery (lemons, avacados, etc) instead of stockings since they might get clocked too quickly.
