DETAquarium
How long has the cholla wood been in the tank? Just as long? I am asking this because during my cycling phases I noticed the same growth on my cholla wood. As my cycling neared the 6 week mark there were no signs of the diatoms. You may want to check your water parameters, specifically Ammonia, Nitrites, and Nitrates.
