manzanita soaking

How many darn days does it take to water log it?  Ive had it soaking in a tub of water for 2 days and its still happily floating.  

 

 

It is to late now, but for future reference,   would it have done anything helpful to add bactar ae  to the soaking water so it could start growing biofilm while it is just sitting there.

I've had them take a week sometimes depending on the size.

It is helping if you can submerse it with a weight (stones etc.).

It took 3-4 days for me for big pieces.

It takes a while, mine was the better part of a week or so. Adding weight to keep it submerged helps a lot.

Manzanita Branches I usually soak for two weeks.

With manzanita i give it a good scrub after soaking it. It helps remove any remaining bark which can end up deteriorating and dirty the water.
