I have maybe a silly question but how do you trim moss in shrimp tank? I need to trim christmass moss on my divider wall but I have a lot of babies in there that like to hide in the moss and I'm afraid to cut them.

So, please, tell me how you proceed with the trimming.

Thank you!

Take your long metal tweezers grab a chunk then cut. While still holding the moss give a shake in the water.

Forget trying not to cut them they move quickly what you have to try is not removing them with the moss. I always leave moss trimmings in a small flat dish with some tank water in the off chance a few young stayed attached. Then just check it before tossing.

Thank you, Greenteam!

I didn't think about using tweezers but hoped that the babies will swim away. And I too was going to put the trimmings in a dish with tank water.

It helps to turn off your filter when trimming moss. This way the moss doesn't spread all over the tank.

Congratulations! How exciting to have not only grown enough to trim, but even to have sold some. I'm hoping to sell my first crays this week thanks to Soothing having gotten me started with stock and education.

Attach a air hose to end of scisors where it cuts and start a syphon to catch all the peices as you clip so moss doesnt fall and grow where you dont want it. On other end have water going through a net to catch the moss to put into your plant growing tank.
