newellcr Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Hello, I've been lurking for a couple of months now. I am a long time fish and plant hobbyist. A couple of years ago, I set up a tank with some Cherry Reds, now I have more than a dozen tanks dedicated to shrimp/inverts. I am looking forward to participating in the forums. Regards, Chris Metro Detroit Quote

newellcr Posted October 9, 2015 Author Report Posted October 9, 2015 SB, Thanks, my aquatic itches usually get scratched... I pulled out my Sony/Minolta gear the other day. It is time to get re-acquainted with the macro lenses and wireless flash. Then again, let's see how the phone camera does first (grin). Quote

newellcr Posted October 22, 2015 Author Report Posted October 22, 2015 So I got my tape measure out and figured out where to add more aquariums. Now it's time to get the wallet out. Quote
Wygglz Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 With Petco in the middle of a sale it is good timing. newellcr 1 Quote
newellcr Posted October 22, 2015 Author Report Posted October 22, 2015 Absolutely Wygglz. There is a local aquarium club auction here this weekend so I'll be looking for some used 10 and 2.5 gallon aquariums. Quote
Wygglz Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 We have livestock auctions here but no aquarium auctions. How cool that you can take advantage of things like that! Soothing Shrimp 1 Quote
newellcr Posted October 23, 2015 Author Report Posted October 23, 2015 Wygglz, The club auctions are nice. Most clubs have monthly meetings as well. Just for information, and if someone else is curious, here is a list of clubs. It isn't all inclusive, but it does have quite a few listed. http://www.faas.info/index.php/clubs/find-an-aquarium-club/clubs Quote
Shrimp lady Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 Welcome to you TOO! I get it when you say I got out the tape measure!! HAH. I too are a fish fan in a fish club. Is the Auction your speaking of with the G.C.C.A.? They have some of the greatest in the Chicago tri-state area in the mid-west area. Quote
newellcr Posted December 2, 2015 Author Report Posted December 2, 2015 Hello Shrimp Lady, I haven't made it to the GCCA yet, mostly I hit the Ohio and Michigan club auctions. Motor City AS is the auction I meant. Quote
