vinniemabuna Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 Hi, Im detting Tiawan fire red shrimp and Im thinking of getting bloody marys and mix the 2 lines. Is this a good idea or not, does anyone have either one ? thank you.. Quote
dr0p Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 It sounds like a good idea, until you get into the backgrounds of both. From my understanding, Bloody Marys come from the Chocolate line, where as the Fire Reds come from Red lines. It has the chance to work, but there is also a chance of the future offspring going back to wild coloring due to differing strains. This chart will help show you what I mean... DETAquarium Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 Drop is correct, you certainly can mix the two, but since both of these shrimp were originated from different strains, you maybe surprised with less than ideal shrimplets. BUT It would also produce a number of beautiful red shrimp, either way you will need to do quite a bit of culling to ensure coloration is in order. Soothing Shrimp 1 Quote
