chibikaie
I believe probe instructions tell you to rinse it before and after use. This lessens the chance that something from a prior liquid will affect your reading, aside from reducing chances of contamination. sarah
In my lab, I always rinse my probe well with DI water before and after testing any solution. Then it gets stored back in the buffer. colorfan, Soothing Shrimp and Shrimple minded
DETAquarium
DET, James, or anyone else in the know........I have yet another question. When getting ready to use a pH probe that has been stored in "pH storage solution", would it be a good idea to rinse the probe (perhaps with RO water) prior to inserting it into the tank, or is the KCl in dilute enough amounts that it doesn't affect chemistry or tank health? Sorry I just saw this post. I never did, until I kept higher end shrimp, now I would certainly recommend a quick rinse to avoid any complications.
