Recommended tank size for starting out?

I started with a 5 gal, then 7 gal, then 10 gal.  Now I have 22 gal - Wish I had done the 22 gal first.

Just wanted to clarify, I think James is referring to 20 gallon long and not 20 liters.

I might be wrong though

I think 10 gallon, but be warned you will soon want a bigger tank, and more tanks!

I think a ten gallon is a good starting point for Cherry Shrimp.

lol...I have 2.5, 5, 10, 20L, 60, & 125 gallon tanks...:D

Thanks everyone! I think I'll start with 10 gallon. And I probably will end up with multiple tanks haha :)

All of my aquariums are 17.1g Mr. Aqua aquariums. Ultimately depends on if you are on a budget and if you want a rimless or an aquarium with a rim.

Rimless: Above Tank

With Rim: 20g Long

Can you get those in the uk and if so where from? :)

If you good with DIY then buy on eBay aquarium silicon and order in your glazing shop 6mm glass with nice polished edges and make the tank yourself. Some YouTube videos can help. I made all my tanks this way and good thing they all fit perfectly in my available space.

Good Question! I am not sure if Mr. Aqua has made it to distribution in Europe. If not I know ADA has the DO Aqua! brand there, and they have a comparable aquarium.
