Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Don't judge me I bought everything when i was new to the hobby.

I have a ton of shrimp food and nutrient products Mosura entire range, glasgarten, shrimp king products and really confused of what to use and when to use.

Any one has a schedule or process they follow.

Thank you.

Are you looking for a food or supplement schedule or both?

This is what I mean [emoji23] by confused. 29ff13b94e1ca99ea7920363c8ac8214.jpg3d153145b26a9bd0e829c7598e89feb6.jpg3c65f416a7fa5516c9664f0066a552c8.jpg

I think many new hobbyist do the same thing get excited and by everything or misguided and still buy a lot. Hopefully I can make this thread one, so people don't make the same mistake as all of these products have a shelf life and buy only what is really needed.

Thank you for your inputs in advance.

I don't have that much but I'm sure have a lot too (especially samples) and I understand you! I'm in minority here but I feed my shrimp everyday day. And I just rotate my food supplements. I'm not familiar with many of your products but I use Mosura Graze(any snowflake food) maybe once in 2 weeks. Bio Plus I use as baby food (wich I rotate too). I'd add mineral maybe once a week. Rotate baby food that you have. Just add it when you see babies in your tank(s) but use just a little bit every feeding. About 2 times a week add complete food (shrimp dinner, complete, any other complete food). Between all of these add veggie/supplements. I add just a little bit of Bacter AE almost daily (especially if I see babies in a tank or clean tank walls). I'm not sure when to add additivies for substrate. I have Rich Water but honestly used it, maybe 3-4 times during last year.

(I would count protein as a supplement and feed it only once in a few weeks).

You were not kidding when you mentioned that you may of purchased everything available.

Not everything tonic still not there and another one or two [emoji23].

Making a draft time table might share it for inputs and then post the finalized one here for others reference.

Honestly over the years I follow the "Less is More" principle. I try to keep my water parameters as stable as possible, and a lot of time adding supplements when not realizing the adverse effects of them could cause problems. Alot of supplements can alter GH/TDS/PH/etc.

I feed my shrimp MWF manufactured foods, and occasionally on the weekend something more natural like Mulberry/Amaranth leaves and/or Snowflake food. As far as supplements go currently I only use Lowkeys Amino Acid Vital Plus on Sundays with a much smaller dose than suggested.

I was in the same place you were several years ago with alot of products and adding several different supplements. I found that when I actually did less, I had better outcomes. This is purely my experience and opinion, but i hope it helps.
