ShrimpP
Wondering if Aura Blues can and have been kept in higher pH (>/+7.2) levels like others have kept OEBT, Royal Blues, BTOE, Red Tigers, and even their "closer-related cousins", Tangerine Tigers. I only see people keeping them in lower Taiwan Bee pH (</-6.5).
slycat929
I keep mine in regular tiger parameters. I have only had them for a few months, but they are constantly berried. I think there are currently 4 females berried (out of the 10 shrimp I started with). I received mine as juvies, but now there are shrimplets and juvies of different ages running around. I keep them in my tap water with Caribsea substrate. Nothing fancy. ShrimpP and Aennedry
ShrimpP
@slycat929 Thanks for mentioning! Happen to know the water parameters and if the colony you obtained were captive bred or wild caught?
slycat929
I can honestly say that I don't even check my parameters unless I see something is wrong with the tank. I routinely check my tap for copper, which is always negative. I am not at home, but off the top of my head, I think my pH was around 7.2 the last time I checked. I know my tds is kept between 200-220. I will have to check my gh/kh when I get home in a few days. ShrimpP
slycat929
So, I checked my parameters today and here it is: pH 7.4, TDS 210, gh9, kh4, temp 74. They are exact same conditions that I use for my royal blue tigers, except maybe a little cooler for the RBT. Of note, the seller did keep them in TB parameters, so I don't know if maybe they will start to slowly die off, but no deaths in the past few months, only breeding.
