Soothing Shrimp
What liquid remin products are out there that you recommend? Keep in mind I am starting up 3+ racks of tanks again of both neos and some cards.
EricM
Bryce I have bigger 2L bottles of Blue Wizard, can even get you 4L bottles if you want. It can work for both neos and cards, but if you want KH you'll need to use baking soda.
Soothing Shrimp
@bostonericI usually don't use kh with neos anyway. LOL I read recently that someone who used BW found their ph dropped into the 6's. Do you find this also- even with inert substrate? Oh, is the liquid thick like shampoo, or thin like water? EricM
@Soothing Shrimp its the combination of buffering soil, RO water (which we know is easy to manipulate with no KH) and Blue Wizard will result in 6PH range. All my SL-Aqua Nature Soil tanks using only RO water and Blue Wizard all sit @ 5.8-6.2 PH range. I also have a few of the Red bottles left, similar ingredients but more tailored to sulawesi and fish. I'm currently using this for my new Sulawesi tank, TDS 250, PH 7.5.
Soothing Shrimp
@bostoneric So with inert, do you think BW would stay in the 7+ range?
EricM
@Soothing Shrimp depends on your water, remember RO is easy to influence because of 0 KH. My RO sits at 6.5 in my 55G container. I just did a PH test using Sera PH kit. 1G of my RO (0 Kh/GH) - 6.5PH mixed in 1mL of Blue Wizard to same 1G of RO - 6.0 PH not sure what that really means because RO is really easy to change PH. You can even change it with an airstone over night. Soothing Shrimp
