Favorite Tank Size

I noticed that I have a collection of the most random tank sizes for my shrimp. Ranging from 5g to 40g and it just happens that Petco is doing their $1 per gallon sale.
Rather then going out an buying a random tank to add to the collection I decided to just reset all my tanks an try to going for a uniform look.

What do you guys find to be the most efficient tank size when it comes to survival/breeding/over all health of your shrimps.

I think their 10, 20 and 40 gallons are good sizes overall for shrimp projects. Anything smaller is a delicate balance that can make shrimp keeping difficult.

Personally I like their 10 gallon tanks because I can fit more of them on a rack.

I was thinking the same about just going 10's. I do wish they would include 15's as part of the sale.

It's a shame I'm terrible at building my own racks so I will have to try an find a shelving unit that could work. I did see someone else built something that looks promising.

Personally, I really like 20L because of the excellent footprint I get with it. There's space for me to place a few rocks with buces / some DW with moss on one side and still have the rest of the floor space open for shrimp to roam/easy viewing for me.

But I do have to admit, 10G are more space-efficient, and you can keep many lines or projects separated that way

20L for general shrimp keeping and breeding.

Rimless for display. I really like the size of my Mr. Aqua 11.5g tank which is 19x12x12.

I actually have a 11.4(.5?)g Mr. Aqua sitting near my desk for display. Still don't know what to put in there yet though.. pure shrimps? nanofish with shrimps?

Onto the OP, I recently bought 10gs for my Edsal rack. Since it's in my room, I didn't have much space and was lucky to be able to place 3 on each shelf. Snug fit :)

I didn't want to get too crazy so I just ended up buying 6 10G tanks to try out. Just happen to have SL- Aqua soil on the way so that's also going to be a first time for me. Now I might have to make a journal an see how things go. Too bad I didn't order the full SL- Aqua cycling kit to try out on these tanks.
