I saw a picture if a leopard shrimp / armadillo shrimp for sale on an Indonesian shrimp site. It looks a bit like a tiger shrimp with spots instead of stripes. Anyone have any experience? Are they available in the states? post-150-0-08354900-1404932013_thumb.jpg

Low order shrimp produce a larvae that does not resemble an adult shrimp. They can be either saltwater or freshwater and require special feeding. At some point (I'm not clear on this) they transform into their adult form. High order shrimp include neocaridina and caridina. Their offspring are just tiny versions of the adult shrimp and grow by molting.
