ahboram
I got 6 imported shrimp for joes aqua and I put them in a existing colony. Upon eye inspection they looked fine but im worried since I didnt QT them before, being imports and all. The tank they were supposed to go in had multiple corys die on me and upon checking the water there was an ammonia spike. So I acclimated them into my main tank. Is there any precautions I can take? I think its too late to fish them out since they are already in the tank. Any advice would be/is appreciated.
wyzazz
I'm not sure how much good it would do to separate them out now but I'd give it a shot. If you've got a Marina Breeding Box, those tend to work well for a visual quarantine although it's not completely ideal because you're sharing water. https://smile.amazon.com/Marina-Hang-On-Breeding-Box-Large/dp/B005QRDCP2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1515247727&sr=8-1&keywords=marina+breeding+box Setting up a new tank or container with a sponge filter seeded from your existing filter that would be the best bet now IMHO. You can usually find 10 gallon tanks for cheap on Craigslist or head on over to your local WalMart/Home Depot/Lowe's/Menards and pick up a plastic tote. Always quarantine, the one time you don't is the time everything will go wrong.
dbpelletier
Petco has the 1 dollar a gallon sale going on, best time to pick up a QT tank!
