cdaJiv
I have three 30 inch “Finnex 24/7 SE Planted+” and I have the same problem with all three units. When they are set to 24/7 mode they do not run a full 24 hour day. The best way I can explain it is by telling you what’s happening... Ok, let’s say on Monday Night at Midnight I set my Finnex’s to 24/7 mode and select 12AM. They will turn a dim blue and within the hour will switch off until between 5-6AM. They run all day on 24/7 mode but by Midnight on Tuesday (24 hours later) they are about as bright as they would be around 10PM! The next day/Wednesday/24 hours later at midnight, from judging by its brightness I would indicate that the lights are set at around 8 or 9PM!!! I have had these lights about 6 months at most and I’m sick of having to reset the internal clock ever single day, the whole point of buying so called “24/7” LEDs is to be able to have them run a full 24 hours and 7 days a week without having to screw with them! This is especially troublesome since I run CO2 to my tanks, I can’t even go out of town for a few days without worrying about my photoperiod and CO2 dispersal becoming crazy out of whack. My CO2 comes on an hour before my lights do so if I don’t reset the clock on these Finnex’s at least every other day then I might have my CO2 come on 3-4 hours before the lights do! Since I have three of these Finnex LEDs I am pretty confident that I’m not the only person having this problem, can I hear from some other people. chappy6107
when I had the 24/7 I did not have this problem. However, I did not like some of the color hues put out so I started only using it like the rest of my lights either on or off.
afeather
I have 2 of the Finnex 24/7 lights; one first edition and the other is a second edition. Neither of them run a true 24/7 cycle; at least to me! When I wake up for work around 7am, I turn them on set to "6am" time. (The lights would be so bright at night they would wake me up otherwise if I didn't turn them off.) But it's not until 10-11pm at night that the lights are finally going through the "sunset" phase. They're more annoying than I assumed they'd be actually, but if they weren't in my bedroom, I probably wouldn't care and would truly let them run 24/7. So basically, mine run too slow! I don't run any CO2, but I definitely see how lining those 2 up would be a stressful problem. You are not alone in your struggles. I wish I had a solution for the both of us! TheGlassBox
I had the same 'running too slow' problem. the light only completely shut off for maybe 2 hours, 3 hours tops. It's like the 24 hour day peroid was based on somewhere close to the arctic where the sun rarely sets... I also didn't like the pink hue to their version of 'evening' light. I just run it on a timer...
