  1. I have bought this Tanks Rack which has a unique design. each shelve has its own built-in sump and there is a small gap which fit a paper (Not two) between the sump and tanks. The owner told me that the design to serve the dripping system and the built-in sump actually is a reservoir to fill the tanks. There are drain holes in the built-in sump and the tanks and many potentials to use them and I'm not sure how to use them properly for the shrimps. The options are: - Drain from the Sump to the below Sump - Drain from the Sump to the below tanks where the excessive water return to the sump - Install a sponge filter in the tank hole and let it drain the water to the below tanks I do prefer the last option because I don't need big air pump to serve the 15 tanks and the draining from the tank holes with the sponge filter will build the bacteria culture in the sponge. But I'm not sure if this will impact negatively the shrimps babies! I'm not sure which option is the best. I need your input please
  2. Just for sake of understanding my options. Most of CRS breeder using RO system to flat the water so they can start dosing and increasing pH, TDS, or GH to the desired level. How about decreasing pH using products like Seachem Acid Regulator or Mosura pH Down? Most of these solutions are using phosphoric acid and safe for aquatic use. Also, How about co2 option? dosing co2 with pH controller can prevent pH fluctuations and maintain a specific level. What do you think guys?
  3. I have put some lotus seeds in my aquarium to be planted. The process of planting Lotus is to cut the seed and put it in the water then put it in a soil after having a small plant from the seed. My shrimp started to eat from these seeds. They even took off a planted lotus from the soil. They are really addicted to it. I'm not sure if this related, but I notice more saddling recently
  4. Can you please share the water parameters and substrate used ? Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  5. I regret adding these layers of additives. No return back point :/
  6. I don't have gH test kit. TDS of tap water is around 65 Here are some pictures of my tank. It is 10 Gallons I used ADA PowerSand, Azoo NitriPro, ADA Bacter 100 and Tantora Mont Powers as layers of the soil. So I checked these powders and most of them with no information except for Tantora which says "Contain sufficient nutritious (Calcium, Magnesium, Silicon etc)". Do you think this is the reason?
  7. Thanks man for the advicd. I don't wanna be hard but RO is my last option. I have good tab water parameters pH : 6.6-6.8 KH : 1.5 d GH : Nitrite NO2 : 0.25 mg/l Nitrate NO3 : 10-18 mg/l CO2 : Chlorine Cl : 0 I believe there is something worng in the tank itself. Maybe the stones or the additives I'm using. Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  8. After Water change, these are the parameters TDS: 166 pH: 6.9 kH: 3 Ammonia: 0 My tank is 10 Gallons and I changed 2 Gallons
  9. Thanks man for replying. I'm doing a water change now. Hope to low the ph and kh I'm trying to avoid RO Unit. Hope I can make it with it.
  10. Hi guys, I started to raise CRS and I noticed the white stripes are fading in one of them. I did test my water and these are the parameters: TDS: 185 pH: 7.1 kH: 4 Temp: 24.5c Ammonia: 0 The kH is not as recommended and I'm not sure if it matches up with other parameters or the test kit failed me. I'm using SL-aqa Soil and I don't have RO Unit. I didn't do any water change. Just top up using a dripper bucket are these parameters ok? and do you recommend me for any action?
  11. Thanks for replying. Any chance you have a specific brand to cosider? Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  12. I'm living in a hot area and I'm considering to buy a chiller but I need some clarifications please. Does the chiller keep the temperature adjusted? Like, if I switched on the AC, will the chiller maintain the required temperature or shut itself down ? Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  13. Hi, I'm wondering if any has his/her own protocol or techniques of Selective breeding? Like do you start randomly hoping to find unique off-spring? or you start with specific Variants? Male to Female Ratio? Specific food? How do you handle saddle or berried shrimp? Do you isolate the juveniles? any specific water chemistry you follow? How to strength the strain?
