  1. Hi All, I have 10 juvenile Blue Dreams for sale. These will not be culls-just the first 10 I can net. $50 for the lot, local pick up in Los Angeles only please. I'll also throw in a nice 6-inch piece of Malaysian driftwood. Below are two photos of the colony, taken with chili rasbora for color/size reference. (Actually, they kept photobombing me because they are divas.)
  2. I've had cherry shrimp in Eco-complete and off-the-charts TDS succesfully in the past. It's possible your batch of Eco-complete was contaminated, but highly unlikely since your other tank is fine. Are you using a dechlorinator? I accidentally killed two colonies of cherries with a store-brand dechlorinator that has apparently given other people problems too. They died one by one, some with the white ring. I switched to Prime and haven't had a death since. Also, have you checked for shrimp diseases? Some of them are really hard to spot unless you know to look for them.
  3. Thanks, guys. I might try the media bag. (I'll probably have to sew a sleeve or something out of one.) It's a weird problem, I agree. chappy6107: They might be after some buildup, but frankly, my shrimp aren't very bright and are probably just randomly making their way in because it doesn't happen often. OMG Aquatics: Unfortunately, the tank is in my bedroom and the splashing would drive me nuts. Shrimple minded: The flow is kinda weak, but definitely out and not in. Also, all the stuck ones were headfirst in the spraybar holes, like they were trying to get in on purpose. Shrimplets get blasted away, and it's only the juveniles getting in.
  4. Hi Everyone, I'm having trouble with my filter and shrimp. The filter is an internal one with a spraybar attachment. I don't have issues with shrimplets getting sucked in, but I'm finding shrimp, stuck, head-first, in the spraybar. A few have died before I was able to free them. I've tried pantyhose, but it cuts the outflow too much. Would a sponge work? I worry about blocking too much of the outflow and damaging the filter. Any suggestions welcomed.
  5. I would vote Fissidens (if you don't mind waiting for it to grow in). But as for the Pellia, have you considered using something like this? http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAwMFgxMDAw/z/0qQAAOSwnK9ZVHmG/$_12.JPG?set_id=880000500F Or sandwiching it between two needlepoint sheets? That should keep it from floating everywhere.
