Ty.Mauger
I wanna create a 1 gallon Walstad nano tank. I am seeing conflicting info on tank size for shrimp. One says 3-5 a gallon. Other says that you should have minimum 5 gallons. Would it be ok to do a small nano tank with 4-5 shrimp in it. Or is that frowned upon? I’m very green to this so I’m trying to gather a lot of info before pulling the trigger on anything. Thanks!
TheGlassBox
You might be okay with that. But I'd wait until the tank was matured before adding them to make sure that it was well cycled and all the ammonia/nitrate was gone first. And I wouldn't add any more. Keep the population low. Let the tank establish for 2-3 months and then test it to make sure everything is cycled. That will give time for some biofilm to form for them to eat as well. A Walstad bowl is on my bucket list. They're beautiful!
