Using small mouth food to create biofilm?

Hi all,

As the title says, I have some very small food for very small mouths, can I use this food as a substitute of Bacter AE to boost biofilm? I'm getting some AE soon but after the current berried female I have will most likely give birth. The food I have isn't being used, as my fish don't like it, or are too big. It's a very fine food, could barely be classified as a pellet.

Any advice is appreciated.
