I did throw 4 cherries a frind of mine pulled out of his filter in my kids 2.5 gallon plastic tank about 2 months ago...I think I have a dozen now! myklt8 Posted November 5, 2013 Author Report Share Posted November 5, 2013 I went overkill on my filtration I took out the filter pad and replaced it with a piece of lexan that is notched at the bottom to for 2 chambers 1st chamber is purigen with filter floss on top, 2nd chamber is filled with Matrix the overlow goes into the 3rd (overflow) chamber, this has the rest of a liter of Matrix in 2 bags I put a coarse black sponge over the inlet grate to keep the shrimps out. myklt8 Posted November 5, 2013 Author Report Share Posted November 5, 2013 The light seems pretty good..I don't know plants all that well, but the ones in the back right corner have gone nuts. the corkscrew struggled a bit at first but has recovered.
