chemd36
hey all I recently found a berried female at a LFS and took it home. This was on Sunday. She's been doing well the last few days, but yesterday she was pretty lethargic and this morning she had died I found her in her usual spot under an overhang of my seiryu rock. I haven't really done anything to the tank, but I did add an additional sponge filter to my tank. She died approx. 4 days after I got her. Do you think its just possibly stress? Molting issues? My other CRS and 4 other TBs seem to be doing just fine. Foraging all over the tank. TDS around 125 GH 4-5 temp 74 Ph 6.4-6.
Chiumanfu
Berried females are under a lot of stress as it is. Changing homes is just another stressful event that put her over the edge. If you act fast you can try to hatch the eggs. Google "Artificially hatching shrimp eggs".
RyeGuy411
Usually if a shrimp is going to die from shipping or transport stress its within the first four days, I wouldnt worry but I'm sorry to hear that.
chemd36
thanks! I'll attribute it to stress then this time. My water paramters are pretty stable. I just need more shrimp now so I get more berried females.
