ElevateShrimp
Hey! I'm a brand new company and I posted in the intro section, but I thought I would also post here because I would love some feedback. I am documenting my undergravel filter build using inert substrate and SeaChem Matrix on my website's blog: http://www.elevateshrimp.com/blogs/news/45256581-building-a-inert-substrate-underground-filter-for-hardwater-shrimp Has anyone had bad experience with these setups? d0pey
I'm using this setup.. I use crushed lava rock to cover the holes and act as a additional biological filter. Iv been told they will eventually get clogged. My setup however is only 4-5 months old so I cannot tell you about that as of now.. As for substrate I chose azoo plant grower, it's going well so far. ElevateShrimp
do you have any idea how they start to get clogged?
d0pey
When the soil starts to breakdown. Which is why I used a ton of crushed lava rocks bigger than the hole.
ElevateShrimp
I covered all of my holes with a mountain of SeaChem Matrix, does the clay at one point pretty much all turn into soil?
ElevateShrimp
I finished my pictorial! Nothing much, but some completed pictures of the setup: http://www.elevateshrimp.com/blogs/news/47178117-inert-substrate-undergravel-filter-completed TomCruise
