Crackhead Johny
Yeah, this is a new one to me too. I unfortunately washed it off before taking a pic. Imagine stagnant aquarium film full of bubbles on floating moss. I ordered a bamboo shrimp which showed up dead with a terrible smell from the bag. So I cultivated the moss that was in the bag. The moss floats and grows foam, it also grew sand paper like deposits on the bottom of the container (RO water). The deposits suggested diatoms? The scum is probably proteins/bacteria right? I'm not sure if the foam is just natural oxygen from the moss getting trapped in the scum or if this is something else. Deposits definitely shouldn't be growing on the bottom of the plastic dish. Anyone seen foaming moss before?
thekonexperiment
i honestly never heard of foaming moss. Maybe you should contact the seller and ask him what kinda of moss he put in in with the bamboo shrimp.
