I don't have small fish like tetra. the smallest one I have now is Endler females. quiet big compare to shrimp. Luckily I don't have shrimplet in the tank, all adults. so I take one from my fish tank and drop in the shrimp tank. It only takes couple minutes to clean every larvaes I have in the tank. then I take it out of the shrimp tank.
