Elo500
Found this link to a site describing how Mr. Suzuki breed the first Red Crystal Shrimp in 1996 after trying for 3 years with the wild black banded shrimp. There are also excerpts from his breeding logs if you read Japanese. http://www.japan-net.ne.jp/next/red/red*e.html ANBU, randy, colorfan and 4 others

Elo500
Gives you perspective on selective breeding. He pulled one red one out pool of thousands of shrimp and after years of trying only to have to wait several generations later to get a few more reds. Seems like you need lots of patience in this hobby.
Ch3fb0yrdee
This goes to show the time and effort Japanese folks put into their hobby. They're all so passionate about what they do and they don't hesitate to put in a ton of time and energy it takes to perfect something. RyeGuy411
This is really great to hear where it all started. It blows my mind if you think of all the different variations there are today only 18 years later.
