brunoboy650
I had a few ramshorn that came on plants I had, I thought I got rid of them by cleaning my tank and siphoning out the ones I found. Lately I noticed a few babies and within a few days, they doubled and tripled in size. Now if I add assassin snail to the tank, will it breed as well? Can I get rid of them? Or if I put one, can it multiply alone since I heard snails have both reproductive organs? Thanks
WaterBugg
Only certain species of snail are self reproductive some need both male and female (like mystery snails they lay eggs a lot of eggs )but as far as I've heard assian snails are harder to breed one will not self replicate but they can potentially kill baby or slow/sick shrimp
TheGardenofEder
I breed and use assassin snails heavily, the only thing you need to worry about is when it doesn't have food to eat it will find a shrimp if it can catch it anyway... the only time this is a problem is when I put a bunch of assassin snails too clean a tank and once they ate all the snails I found a dead cherry getting eaten. Just use one snail and you shouldn't have a problem, if you have multiple tanks just move him around daily. Soothing Shrimp
