ro filter storage

Recommended Posts

Here is a decent paper to get you started. SMBS is Sodium Metabisulfite. It's almost easier just to flush it once a week.  In the old days we also used a dilute Formalin solution, 3% i think. But Formalin is a carcinogen and not used anymore that I know of. If it's an older membrane you might just toss it and start with a new one when your ready.

I would remove the membrain place it in a ziplock with RO water and place it in the refridge depending on how long your not going to use it. How long are you planning on not using it? You may want to replace it if it's old.
