Chiumanfu
Spend a couple more bucks and get the TDS-4 model. It has temperature compensation which can make a big difference.
DETAquarium
I have used the HM Digital TDS-EZ Pen since I started keeping shrimp. Hasn't failed me yet, going on two years.
revolutionhope
i've also been using an inexpensive HM TDS meter for a few years now (first with hydro and more recently with my aquariums) and it definitely does the job well for making comparisons between my tanks and being consistent with mineralising my RO water - but i am still left wondering if anyone has tested one of these cheap HM units for accuracy in various solutions - esp. side by side with a higher priced model to see if there is much discreptancy or if they matched closely.... chumanfu i note that you recommended the TDS-4 model which has temperature compensation you say - are you able to give any advice about how big of a difference this can make? love n peace will
fishcrazy
I have the TDS-4 and the normal TDS meter. Both work great, but I like being able to stick it in and get the tempature easily. Both give me almost the exact same reading one may say 96 while the other may say 103. I'm not sure which one is the most accurate. I paid 2 dollars more for the TDS-4 from eBay.
